How do I prescribe a medication?
Write a prescription from the patient chart, send it to GoGoMeds with Sign & Send, and see how the patient is billed.
How do I prescribe a medication?
Prescribing is available once GRAICE has turned it on for your clinic.
Who can do this: clinicians who are on the patient's care team with prescribing permission. Coaches cannot prescribe.
- Open the patient's chart and select Prescriptions, then select Prescribe.
- In the wizard, work through Patient, Medication and Review.
- On Medication, search the catalog in Search GoGoMeds catalog... (type at least 2 characters). Confirm the 11-digit NDC, then add strength, dosage, frequency, quantity, days supply, refills and instructions.
- On Review, check the pharmacy, which is GoGoMeds Mail-Order Pharmacy.
- Select Sign & Send. You can instead select Save Draft or Sign Only, which do not send anything.
If GRAICE asks for your NPI and address, or the patient's date of birth, phone or address, fill them in and try again.
What the patient pays and when
Sign & Send bills the patient the GoGoMeds catalog price plus GRAICE's $37 Platform Service Fee. The order ships only after payment clears.
- If the patient has a card on file, it is charged and you see "Paid & sent to GoGoMeds."
- If there is no card on file or the card is declined, GRAICE emails a payment link and you see "Awaiting patient payment." The order ships once they pay.
If something goes wrong
- If Sign & Send is disabled with "Prescribing through GRAICE is not enabled for your clinic," contact GRAICE support.
- "Paid — pharmacy transmission failed" means payment cleared but the order did not reach GoGoMeds. Select Retry in the patient's Billing section, which needs billing access.
- "Payment didn't finish": press Sign & Send again. It reuses the same order, so the card is not charged twice.
- If a drug-allergy warning appears, select Cancel, or type a reason and select Override & Continue. The check matches recorded allergies by name and code only. It does not catch drug-class cross-reactivity, so no warning is not clearance.
- "Connect your clinic's Stripe account before sending invoices" means a clinic admin must finish the clinic's payment setup first.
