How do I ask the GRAICE assistant about a patient's chart?

The GRAICE assistant answers questions from a patient's chart. It is for clinicians and coaches. It is separate from Scuba Steve, which only helps with using the app.

    1. Select the GRAICE orb in the sidebar (Open GRAICE assistant). The panel is titled GRAICE Chat.
    2. Select Select a patient to begin and choose a patient. You can also search with Search patients.
    3. Pick a starter question or type your own in Ask about your patients' charts....
    4. Read the answer, then check it against the chart before you act.

Starter questions include "Summarize the most recent visit," "List current medications" and "Any documented allergies?"

    What it can see

It answers from your assigned patients' charts: notes, medications, labs, problems, allergies and vital signs. It reads only the sections your care team permissions allow, and emergency (break-glass) access does not extend to it. It also holds back HIV-related records, and substance-use content in records from outside your clinic. A gap in an answer is not proof that nothing is on file, so check the chart itself.

    What it does not do

    • It answers questions. It does not write notes or place orders.
    • It does not replace your clinical judgment. The panel reminds you to review answers before clinical action.
    • Select New chat to start over.
