    How does family access work?

A proxy is a person you allow to see and act on your health record, such as a parent, guardian, spouse or caretaker. Your clinic verifies every proxy for privacy reasons.

If you want to add a proxy

You can't add one yourself. Click Account, then Family Access, then Request Proxy Access. Message Care Team opens a message to your clinic so you can ask about it. If a proxy is set up for you, the request waits for your approval on this page.

    Approve or decline a request

    1. Open Family Access.
    2. Open the Pending tab. It appears only when a request is waiting.
    3. Read the person's name and the permissions requested, such as View Appointments or View Lab Results.
    4. Click Accept or Decline.

The Active tab lists current proxies and what each can do. History shows past ones.

    Remove a proxy

Click Request revocation next to the person. Removal needs a written request to your practice. The box shows where to send it. Clicking the button doesn't remove access by itself. The person keeps their access until your practice acts on your written request.

    If you are the proxy

Once someone has approved you, a Family Access menu appears at the bottom of the side menu.

    1. Open it and choose the person under View as....
    2. A banner says Viewing as their name. You see what your permissions allow.
    3. Click Exit in the banner, or choose Return to my account, to go back.

    If something goes wrong

If the menu doesn't appear, the access may still be pending. Ask the patient or the clinic.
