How do I connect Stripe to get paid?

Patient payments for billable services and prescriptions go through Stripe. You connect an account once, and Stripe handles the bank payouts.

Who can do this: clinic owners, administrators, and team members with billing access.

Connect the clinic's account

1. Go to Settings → Payments → Payment Settings.
2. Under Clinic Payments, find Clinic's Stripe Account. The badge reads Not Connected.
3. Select Connect with Stripe and finish Stripe's onboarding. You return to GRAICE when it is done.
4. If the badge reads Incomplete, select Continue Setup. Invoices cannot be paid until your account can accept transfers.

When the badge reads Active, Accept Payments and Bank Payouts show their status. An item shows Pending until Stripe has enabled it.

Choose who collects

Under How payments are collected, pick one.

• The clinic collects: every payment goes into the clinic's Stripe account, and the clinic pays its clinicians. Best when clinicians are employed by the practice.
• Each clinician collects: a patient pays the clinician who treated them, into that clinician's own Stripe account. Each clinician connects their own account under Your Payouts.

Changing this affects new invoices only.

Clinicians connect their own account

Under Your Payouts, a clinician selects Connect with Stripe. Disconnect unlinks it. Unpaid invoices made out to them cannot be paid until they reconnect. Their Stripe account itself is not touched.

Clinicians should set their Stripe statement descriptor to the clinic's name. Only the clinician can change it, using the link Open your Stripe statement descriptor settings.

If something goes wrong

If a non-clinician selects Connect with Stripe under Your Payouts, they see "Payout accounts are for clinicians and coaches."
